SOME THOUGHTS ON PROPHECY

“But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all: And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.”
                                                                                                            1 Corinthians 14:24

We should all seek to prophecy as born-again believers. For in prophesying we reveal the secrets in people’s hearts that they may know that God sees their hearts and they can do nothing to hide from Him. Prophecy also serves to edify (or build), exhort (or encourage), and comfort (see 1 Cor 14:3). So the desire to prophesy is in actual fact a selfless pursuit. Even though he who prophesies may see himself as something great and in-turn become arrogant and boastful; thereby condemning his own soul to hell. Therefore, the root of all prophecy (and any other spiritual gift) must be love (see 1 Cor 13:1-3).

Been listening to alot of Jason upton Music lately and this is his take on Prophecy.
" Prophecy used to kinda weird me out so I asked the Lord one day, and He said, “It’s not about the future or fortune or fame of men or people, but it’s about knowing intimately the feelings of My heart.” " - http://www.relevantmagazine.com/god/worship/features/258 Anyway...thats been a blessing, we can be Thus says the Lord, or just Doom and Gloom prophets, or we can listen to what God is saying whatever it is...And share that. I think when its about his heart, then it stops being about how cool the Prophet is!
